She regularly represents individuals serving IPP (Imprisonment for Public Protection) or life sentences, consistently achieving positive outcomes at Parole Board hearings. She is also highly skilled in advising and representing clients facing independent adjudications, where additional days of custody may be imposed by an external judge.
Catherine works extensively with clients serving long sentences who return to her for guidance at each key stage of their progression. She prides herself on forming lasting professional relationships and tailoring her approach to each client’s individual needs, ensuring they receive clear, effective and compassionate support throughout their sentence.
Recognising the close connection between prison law and criminal allegations that may arise during detention, Catherine also qualified as an accredited police station representative. This enables her to represent clients who are arrested and taken into police custody, as well as those interviewed by police within the prison setting—providing seamless support at every stage.
